AverageJoe Report post Posted May 27, 2015 I got a letter stating i was one of a select few that would be participating in a survey that could change the way hunters and private land owners interact. The survey mentioned general hunting license increase to pay for land access, state tax increase, paying landowner at the gate, or buying some kind of stamp for land access. Asked a few other questions as well regarding private land access and what i would be willing to pay etc to hunt land previously locked up. My answer was "nothing". So they want to raise prices to allow general public access to public land that's locked up by private land? I would not want that. I enjoy my large plots of land shared by few. Most folks are afraid to ask or do some work to access it. If this is a true attempt at gaining back some access to public lands then good job AZGFD. You can be pissed off or whatever but at least they're trying to gain some input. I've seen a lot of land get locked up in areas I have hunted and would love to continue to hunt. If I had to pay a small fee to access it then I would. Otherwise, I won't get to hunt it period. My daughter has had two drawn tags in ten years of trying and is a casual hunter at best. On access issues, I have yet to find a place I want to go to that I can not without a little extra effort.
