I got a letter stating i was one of a select few that would be participating in a survey that could change the way hunters and private land owners interact. The survey mentioned general hunting license increase to pay for land access, state tax increase, paying landowner at the gate, or buying some kind of stamp for land access. Asked a few other questions as well regarding private land access and what i would be willing to pay etc to hunt land previously locked up. My answer was "nothing".

It Also asked what i thought about game and fish, how their performance has been, and what i expect from them.

I hunt public land behind private locked land regular, didn't get the letter? So they want to raise prices to allow general public access to public land that's locked up by private land? I would not want that. I enjoy my large plots of land shared by few. Most folks are afraid to ask or do some work to access it. I agree it shouldn't be closed but while it is there is still usually access to it with a little work.

^^^^ hahahha. I still don't get how a few select land owners can lock up vast amounts of public land. Has always ticked me off

My nineteen year old daughter got one. This looks like a money grab. Looks more like a farce than anything.

I filled it out on behalf of those that hunt the southern units. Wrote in my own opinion and threw down some names as well. Not that it matters.

You know private land is just that, private land. A guy can do what he wants with it and a lot of times the public hunters gets shafted because of a gate...

If this is a true attempt at gaining back some access to public lands then good job AZGFD. You can be pissed off or whatever but at least they're trying to gain some input. I've seen a lot of land get locked up in areas I have hunted and would love to continue to hunt. If I had to pay a small fee to access it then I would. Otherwise, I won't get to hunt it period.

My hope is that the G and F will continue to work out access issues. If this is what its for, nice work game and fish.

I find there selection methods for the survey suspicious. My daughter has had two drawn tags in ten years of trying and is a casual hunter at best.

On access issues, I have yet to find a place I want to go to that I can not without a little extra effort.
