wyguy Report post Posted May 24, 2015 I was looking through some Hunting memories before church (nothing more holy right? ) and came across this picture. It was our last day out hunting and I was ready to shoot anything with antlers and of the right species. My little Brother and I had just gotten back from a place we hiked and glassed for the morning when we saw a group of deer on a little mound (little too small to be considered a hill). I went one way, my brother went another hoping to draw antlers on one of them. I finally found one that I could barely see antlers poking over his ears. This tiny buck started turning away, when I did a little whistle (that I've long made fun of my dad for doing around deer and elk) when the stupid thing turned around and started walking back towards us. I pulled up the rifle, quietly slid the bolt closed, loading the weapon, when it started walking towards where my brother was, and my only thought was "Crap Cole went that way and there goes my shot." when all the sudden I hear a rifle sound, and it was my little brother Cole. He had brought down that little buck. Mixed feelings. Proud of the brother for slaying the buck and a little pissed off he stole it out from under me..

elkaholic Report post Posted May 24, 2015 the tale of 2 hunters close friends hunting in the desert - . basically just slow stalking along keeping an eye out for deer . the one in front stops is looking around and sees a deer - He's "ppsst - ppsst " to his hunting buddy - look over there its a nice buck buddy walks up sees the deer lifts his rifle and with one shot, he drops the buck the other guy is standing there mouth wide open - then proclaims - " Hey !! you just shot my buck!" the hunting partner calmly states - "why didn't you just shoot it - I thought you wanted me too - so I did - what were you waiting for ?" moral to the story - if you see a nice buck - just shoot it - no need to wait - the next guy won't !
