IA Born Report post Posted May 21, 2015 Wow. That could sway my decision if I actually get around to getting a new truck in the near future.
gmcbob Report post Posted May 21, 2015 I was always taught 'you shouldn't be pulling a trailer if you can't push one'.
.270 Report post Posted May 21, 2015 how big a p%$$y do you hafta be to need a truck that backs itself up? that's as bad as them cars that parallel park theirself. if you need one o' them kinda trucks you oughta hafta turn in your scrotum for a down payment. my neighbors 16 year old daughter loads hooks up her trailer herself, loads her horses, hauls em all over the country and then backs the trailer wherever she needs it all the time. that there is a nerd/yuppy mobile. elkaholic Report post Posted May 21, 2015 save a lot of repairs for damaged rear 1/4 panels - everytime I see a rear side fender smashed in or a huge hole in it - I can't help but lol not only can't they back -up properly they usually forget they even have a trailer hooked -up!!
Curtis Reed Report post Posted May 21, 2015 Couldnt agree more with lark. Now I know why new trucks cost $50k - unnecessary gadgets that eventually break and need repair. I wish a auto company would make a pick up with a motor, carb, am/fm radio, no power windows, no power locks... No frills and sell it for $12,000 new. Something that you don't need an electrical engineering degree to fix. Something where there is room under the hood and not crap jammed in every inch of free space to the point you can't even stick your hand anywhere near the engine. I'm guessing this isn't a reality due to government regulations
rossislider Report post Posted May 21, 2015 Wow, talk about testosterone overload! I assume you all also refuse to buy trucks with electric windows, A/C, etc. A real man wouldn't need those either... Convenience and necessity are two different things.
.270 Report post Posted May 21, 2015 there is no such thing as too much testosterone. unless you're a female. as least one that ain't a russian tractor mechanic or east german weight lifter. i can't wait till the first dork runs into something with his (?) backitselfup truck. "well offither, it simply ithn't my fault. i put IT in automatic backup and IT hit that big mean cowboys truck, not me. oh, and is his phone number on the citation?". gonna be a field day for lawyers. "your honor, my client cannot be held accountable for the actions of his vehicle. the big mean cowboy should have known better than to park within 100 feet of a truck that is owned by a man (?) that is too much of a p%$$y to drive it hisself". judge judy is gonna hafta get another show just for backin' accidents. like Phil says, nerds and yuppies. elkaholic Report post Posted May 21, 2015 like who was the idiot that decided that the passenger door doesn't new a key lock on the outside - 0n the newer pickups -- you can not access the door - if locked unless thru the driver side or the FOB oh yeah CHEVY engineers I purchased a newer chevy 2013 - first time ever owning a chevy since the 70's priced so I couldn't say no - this thing has way too many new fangled gizmo's / electric crap i'll never use or really need. Now I'm a large guy and the drivers seat is the worse most uncomfortable piece of crap ever installed in a truck cab never been ace sore before while driving till I owned this chevy. screw all the gadgets - put a decent seat in them . get rid of that HUGE suitcase inbetween the seats I'll never buy another one ! Curtis Reed Report post Posted May 21, 2015 Case in point - my wife lost her dodge caravan key. I went to True Value to get a key made. They said it would be $250!!!?!! They said my wife's key is chipped so only that key can start the van. What a joke. Who is going to steal a 2006 caravan? Can't I just get a normal $2 key? Why does it need to be so complicated? And both rear window motors in my truck went out. $100 each to fix. Give me a crank and I'd be happy... I'm not that lazy
