LIK2HNT Report post Posted May 21, 2015 Hi everyone, I plan on calling Game & Fish tomorrow, but I would like to know if anyone knows if I can fix my bonehead mistake. Last night I messed up and put my son in for a deer point with his sister instead of the youth hunt I have been applying him in for the last few years. This should be his year to draw. I just realized my mistake today. He is 15 and was looking forward to this hunt the last couple years, but has not been able to draw. Hope I did not completely mess this up for him. Anyways, will Game & Fish allow you to change your choices after applying on line? Thanks Bill
rossislider Report post Posted May 21, 2015 Yikes, I sincerely wish you luck. AZGFD doesn't have a great record for fixing this type of thing.

Norteno Report post Posted May 21, 2015 Dad screwed up. Maybe apply for a general hunt and if you draw sign your tag over to him. He's 15 and doesn't want to go on those "kid" hunts, an adult hunt is better right
LIK2HNT Report post Posted May 21, 2015 I called this morning no corrections once submitted. What a bonehead move on my part. We thought after we took the NR class a couple years ago that he would draw that year, but more people keep putting in for it. With 5 points I think this year would of been his turn. At least he is 15 and still can apply next year. Thanks Bill
Flatlander Report post Posted May 21, 2015 Our G&F dept. is its own worst enemy. I really try to stay supportive and positive, but for crying out loud they make it hard sometimes.
lancetkenyon Report post Posted May 22, 2015 Put your wife in for a general hunt, and if she draws a tag, sign it over to your son. Or sign over your own tag if you draw one.

Red Sparky Report post Posted May 25, 2015 Don't know how the process works in Az. but here we can cancel any application before the draw. So if we make a mistake we cancel and reapply as long as it is before the deadline date. The cost is the non refundable application fee of $13. Maybe you have to do that rather than try to fix the other one. There should be a way to fix mistakes.
MULEPACKHUNTER Report post Posted May 25, 2015 I think the day where we can make corrections is coming soon. Luckily I have not made a mistake yet. I usually put in a few friends apps and all of my family. Being a first generation hunter and getting my dad, son, daughter, into this I am the goto guy for dates, deadlines, license numbers, hunt numbers, scouting, and many other tasks related. I know many of us do the same work for the love of hunting and family. If a mistake was made it would save some from serious heart ache if we could get just a little assistance from those who benefit the most from our support.
1uglydude Report post Posted June 11, 2015 One of my comments during the open houses on the portal system was that one of the overall improvements they need to make is to allow for amendments to applications. One of the reasons people wait so long to apply for the draw is because they want to wait just a little longer to ensure nothing happens that is going to screw up their choices: broken bones, illnesses, fires in the area they want to hunt, etc. If they want to encourage people to apply early, then let them amend their applications as a reward. My suggestion was if you apply at least two weeks before the deadline, perhaps you could give guys up until a week after the deadline to go back and make amendments (but not to cancel). I'd see that as a huge incentive to get my application in early, and it would have saved me the year that my brother broke his femur two days after I put him in for the draw. 8OWHUNT247 Report post Posted June 11, 2015 You should be able to edit up until the deadline in my opinion..
