You might want to get a general bear tag also. I've seen some bears while glassing canyons in 32 during the Oct coues hunt. While your scouting glass for bears because the hunt ends Oct 21. I assume this is a coues tag and not muley so give me an email coues14@aol.com

It is difficult to give you the advice on where to hunt since I don?t know what type of terrain or vegetation that you like to hunt in, or how you hunt. Some people might like to hunt big mountains with big canyons, and others may like to hunt rolling hills. Some might like to hunt the thick oak and manzanita, and some may like open areas with ocotillo and mesquite. It all depends on your personal preference. The only thing that I can tell you is to get maps, and get out and drive and find where you can get into and where you can?t, access is a big issue. Find areas that look good to you and meet your hunting style. Getting into more difficult areas will usually mean fewer hunters to deal with. I believe deer can be found all over and most large canyons will have deer in them.

workhorse, don't work too hard you gotta get out there and scout. As with most of the AZ. coues units there are some dandy bucks in 32. I dont know how many days you are planning to hunt but for the first few days you might want to hold out fot a whopper. If you dont find him, then i'm sure with dilligent glassing you should be able to find just a decent buck of 3 years or so.

Welcome to the website. I don`t think access is that bad in unit 32. It is a huge area! One area that I like is off the aravaipa canyon road or aravaipa valley road to the west of Klondike. I found some good bucks up near china peak. You must backpack quite a ways in to escape the crowds though. Another area is off the rattlesnake canyon road to the south of china peak. If you are willing to work your a _ _ off , there are some nice bucks back in the wilderness area off the rattle snake. I hope this helps you and good luck on your hunt. Coues Addict <_<

I saw a lion in 32 in January of 2002 while bowhunting. Saw him w/ the naked eye about 90 yds away. I put a stalk on him but he vanished.

I've archery hunted 32 for about 6 yrs now and seen some whoppers. I hunt around mammoth and the San Pedro river. Great muley/coues country around there, not a whole lot of hunting pressure. Buy a lion tag. Good chance to see coatimundi's too.
