Wing bone calls

Recommended Posts

I saved the wing bones from one of my turkeys, wanting to make calls out of them. Well, I just never found the time to make them, so I asked Ammon from Little Creek Calls if he would make them for me. He said he would, and I just got them back from him. They are awesome! I'm giving one to my friend Jorge for his birthday. Jorge was the one who got me into turkey hunting. We've had a lot of fun and many successes over the years. Thanks to Ammon for making them for me.

you actually suck in on the calls to make all the calls a hen makes a lot like a trumpet call, takes some time to learn all the calls really well I call them the 750 hour calls, that's how long it takes to learn them well.

Well TRKHNTR, something to be said about people answering for other peoples questions, not sure what, lol.

Actually to make yelps with a wingbone call, you make a kissing sound with the tip of the call at or just inside your lips. Haven't tried sucking on it ala trumpet style, maybe later........

CT, I apologize if you thought I was answering for you I was simply stating the way I use wingbone/trumpet calls. Yes you can make a cluck sound if you use a "kissing sound" but if you want to use agonistic calls, lost whistles, lost yelp, cutts, cackles and even jake yelping it takes more of a sucking type call IMHO. Good luck and no matter how you use your call you have a couple of nice looking calls there.
