Wild Boar Hunting in AZ

Recommended Posts

That's tntadventures.net. I already hunted with them.

Right. I saw that. The web site is still useless.

How the heck does an outfit looking to run a money-making venture think that site will help them? -TONY

I don't know but I thought that it was a cool site. I guess that if someone wants more info, that they would have to contact them, which is what we did and it worked out well. Atleast for us, as I took the biggest boar (310 lbs.) on my first day out. Not to mention that we saw tons of other wildlife.

rockdog,

A site trying to sell hunting opportunities should have at least a modicum of information about such opportunities. That one has nada, zero, zilch, nil, nothing. You would think they would at least include some photos of past hunters if they intend to sell hunts.

So how's about some photos of that monster boar you shot?? -TONY

Will do. Just as soon as I figure out how to send them. I'm kinda ignorant on this computer when it comes to sending photos but my girlfriend knows how. Just as soon as I can, I'll have them sent.

I see you just joined CWT today. Welcome!!

Where is the ranch? You said it is "free-range" hunting. To me that means there are no fences to keep the hogs from wandering around the rest of the state. Is that the case? Or did you mean they aren't in a small pen?

Look forward to seeing the photos. -TONY

Hey guys, please respect our current sponsors by not giving direct links or contact information for outfitters that are not official sponsors of this site. Those are the rules agreed to when you registered for the forum. I have edited post to remove direct links and phone numbers. If you really feel the need to contact this outfitter, it's easy enough to find them on the web.

Thanks for your cooperation with this. Rockdog, I specifically asked you earlier today to not post the web address or phone number and you did so. Not a good way to start out in this forum.

Sorry, but I thought that you said it could be done "privately". I was thinking that when we talked to each other direct, that is what you meant. So when you say "easy enough to find them on the web", does that not mean the "web address"? I'm new to this chat room business and if I'm wrong or ignorant in this regard, I apologize.

I guess that I can "legally" tell you where the ranch is (hopefully without violating the forum's rules of engagement!!). The one we went to was at Reddington near San Manuel. The other one I'm not sure exactly where, but they said near Clifton, Az.

No fences. The ranch is something like 230, 000 acres. They mentioned that sometimes the hogs wander but always return to the fields and constant water. Large fields of alfalfa, oats and sourgham. We found "freeways" where the hogs would come in to feed (usually at night).

Hope that helps.

Tony Mandile and I went around and around on this a couple of years back on another forum, but I hold firm in my belief that there are few (if any) places in North America that have full-blooded European wild boars. :)

I shot wild Eurasian boars in Spain and Mongolia, and they did not even closely resemble those being called "Russian boars" here.

A brown feral hog I once shot in California was called a "Russian boar" by the guy who owned the place I hunted, but it came from a herd that had every color of pig imaginable, including a couple that were spotted.

The many so-called "wild boars" I saw at two sites in New Zealand did not resemble a European wild boar, either, even though they were huge and ferocious-looking.

It willl be interesting to see photos of the animals this outfitter is offering.

I don't know about all that, but I did ask the range mgr. with Tnt about deer and javelina hunting and he said that anybody that has their access permit, can hunt on their property free of charge. My buddy and I will be hunting there for rifle javelina. Maybe its a different ranch??

I'm not trying to badmouth anyone, but why in the heck would I pay someone to hunt javelina, when I already know where they are? I didn't speak to him for very long, but the way he was talking to me made me think he was trying to pull one over on me, and I can't stand it when someone tries to do that. Reminded me of a salesman trying to sell me a product that I already had. <_<
