Here is my buck from last years hunt in 12A East. When we checked him in at the check point the Game and Fish personnel was courteous to show us photos of all the deer that had been checked in from all the 12 areas. I would say that there were some good bucks taken from the east side (170s range), but most of the bigger bucks were shot on the west side. If you choose to put in for any of the 12s, I would definitely add the west side.

If you truly don't mind waiting then wait for a strip tag. You will not regret it. If ya don't want to wait that long then pick a unit close to home where you can learn every inch and scout a ton. You'll find a buck that you'll be happy with.

at the risk of being labeled an" under achiever"...... i could be quite satisfied with a buck 10 % or even 20% smaller the the 296# from the kofas.

I imagine the kofa has attracted a lot of attention since this buck was killed. I wonder how many points it will take to make the points pass this year...

I like the desert units south of the ditch. Easy to draw and here are some bucks we chased last year

Lots of great info here. I'm building points in multiple places too. AZ is a tough one, hold out for a strip tag or go with raider units to draw. Just wish I had more time to scout. I'm usually stuck in other states working.
