Chef Report post Posted May 8, 2015 Julie was a sweet dog with the best smile. I wish the situation was different and she was still here. I'm so sorry for your loss Amanda. There are no words that can express my feelings as I know you and Paul are going through a tough time. Julie was loved tremendously and you gave her a fantastic life. She was part of your family. Let me know if I can help.

singleshot Report post Posted May 8, 2015 Growing up my Dad had a friend who had guided in Alaska. He told stories of tracking wounded Grizzlies into willow thickets, all out charges. Our Rhodesian Ridgeback scared the crap out of him, he would sit outside our house in his truck and honk the horn until she was chained. My Dad would tease him and his response would be " getting killed by a bear is a macho way to go, nothing macho about getting eaten by a dog". Having lost some really great dogs to vehicles, poisoning and some idiot's bullet, I hope you can find peace Amanda in knowing that Julie's time ended doing what she loved to do, being in the outdoors.
