AZ8 Report post Posted May 7, 2015 You're in the race. Might as well finish it with a Strip tag. I'm sitting on 13 points. Only putting 13B on my apps from here on out until I draw!

Coues79 Report post Posted May 7, 2015 I wouldn't put 8 points towards a 31 tag. Just IMO. Access is an issue in the north part and the southern part has been hunted very hard the last several years. A guy can draw that late tag every 3-4 years as it is too..... They'll always be a good buck or two in that unit. Why not 27/28 DEC whitetail? 33? Pretty fun hunt but huge country....
SirRoyal Report post Posted May 8, 2015 Bob, Max resident points for deer is 18 only 9 people in the state have that many points! I know 3 of them! If all those put in for 13B 7 of them would be drawn in the bonus pass! The other 7 will be nonresidents! As a non resident there is little hope of you ever getting one of those tags. Now if the proposed changes happen which are now in the Governors lap then you will have a tiny miniscule possibility of drawing 2016 and on! There are several units up here for Coues you should really look at Too many tags down south ! Bottom line!
SirRoyal Report post Posted May 8, 2015 This is a buck my buddy and I got a few years ago! You will be hard pressed to find that quality down south ! Not impossible though but tough!
AZ8 Report post Posted May 8, 2015 I recall reading a post from Bob stating he is moving back to Arizona. Just re-establish your residency and you're back in the game!

It is a Work Comp deal so I'M sure it will drag out. Allready had one major surgery ,unsuccesfull. Darn stuff screwing with my hunting and my income.......BOB! naturebob Report post Posted May 8, 2015 As a res. I look pretty good. The non residents need to give up. They are in for a long wait if they are looking Strip. My Goodness there is a bunch of them. Thanks for the Stats.........BOB!
DesertBull Report post Posted May 8, 2015 You can hunt big Mule deer in a number of states with far fewer points than needed for a strip tag. You are very limited as far as coues deer go. A unit 33, 27, 23 tag is worth 8+ points.
Big Browns Report post Posted May 8, 2015 There are a lot of great out of sate options available. Why wait 10-20 years for a strip tag when you can go on a great Colorado or Utah hunt in 2-6 years. Yes you may not have a true chance at a 200, but a solid 170-180 looks just as nice on the wall in my opinion.
