I am all for hiring anyone who passes the tests. Black, white, red, yellow, green, purple, male, female, straight, gay, etc.

 

But would YOU want her to be the one person who has to save your life by pulling you from a burning building? heck no. A 17:50 time limit on the test, and she completes it one out of 5 times with a time of 22:00??? WTF NY?

 

Equality does not equal special treatment.

Sad thing is all those grand standing saying how great this is for women? It is an embarrassment if anything and a discredit to those who have passed the requirements.

My Ex-brother-in-law (divorce) is a firefighter in the Phx area. I'll tell you what, if I were in a burning building or car I would want him as a first responder. This guy is about 6'7 300 pounds and has hands that look like a sausage rack. He could literally throw a kid over each shoulder and still pull two adults to safety.

 

Dumbing down fitness tests to achieve "equality" is just stupid. I have no problem with women in the police force, marines, combat roles, you name it. If they can get the job done. But when lives are at stake, I want the most capable person doing the job - period.

It's all politics. Is anyone really surprised this happened? This is happening all over this country in many other scenarios. We just happened to see this one. This country is going down the toilet and OBAMA has his hand on the handle.
