Pine Donkey Report post Posted April 26, 2015 Lots of elk in 27. Their patterns are different than prefire. Now they do a lot of eating in what used to be heavy timber. Find trails and hang cameras for July and August. Just look for good concentration of cows, don't worry about big bulls. Pattern the cows and when things turn on, the bulls will show. Plenty of places in 27 to get away from roads. Leave your truck an hour before light and return an hour after dark. Hunt all day everyday. Get a good pair of boots, a good pack and Havlon knife...things will work out well. Good luck and post some picks.

Edge Report post Posted April 26, 2015 My first deer was taken near Hannagans Meadows in 1973. Rescued an elk calf from a fence opening day. 2 years later my uncle took a royal 8 pt. From the same area.
