stanley Report post Posted April 20, 2015 I'm heading-up to the Kiabab next weekend for the 'second season' turkey hunt! I know the early hunt opens this weekend, but was curious if anyone has been up there scouting or camping recently. I'm assuming 67 will be closed until mid-May like usual. Any reports on the 212 or 462 road conditions? I'm going to call the forest service, but thought I would throw the topic out here too. Thanks! S.
spqhunt Report post Posted April 27, 2015 Going up for the same hunt, haven't heard much on road conditions just know they got some rain and snow up there during the first hunt.

I don't think the hunters did very good for turkey last weekend. It was just enough snow to muddy things up and make it tough. Talked to several turkey hunters and none of them were hearing or seeing much. I covered a lot of ground and was out early and late and didn't hear a single gobble all weekend. I think you guys will hit it just right this weekend.
spqhunt Report post Posted April 28, 2015 Thanks basser for the update. I'm looking to get as far away from people as I can up there, there are too many roads though wish they would close 90% of them to traffic to discourage road hunting. I love to get off the beaten path and can hopefully get a good hunt on video this year.
Basser15 Report post Posted April 28, 2015 Good luck to you guys up there. And If you can, discourage those same turkey hunters from road hunting up by the park border. I was all over that area and saw very little turkey sign, plus the more people driving those roads the better chance we have of those animals moving back over on to the park side. spqhunt Report post Posted April 28, 2015 Thanks for the info I'll let you know if I see any bison up there but I'm leaning towards hunting lower to avoid the crowds
