I have 4 points for WY. Some say to hold out another year as an important mature age class is missing. My only other WY hunt was in 2010 in a top unit where I found a nice 80 incher. Still contemplating whether to pony up for the special tag this year.

FYI, draw deadline is 06/01/15. You can start buying preference points from 07/01/15-09/30/15.

So if I put in now and don't get drawn on 6/1 do I get a preference point or should I just wait and buy a preference point after 7/1 and work toward building points as I probably won't have time to go this year anyway?

Just put in for preference point on July 1 unless you want to chance you draw on first or second choice

If you dont draw your first choice you keep or gain a preference point. You could put in for a really good hunt with the expectation you are not going to draw and gain a point. This way you still have a small chance to get a good tag. Keep in mind. Wyoming's small chance is still higher than most of our hunts with 10-20 points.

The results should be out this week. Good luck to those that applied. I'm hoping I burned my points this year since nothing in NV, UT or AZ(so far).

I feel your pain. I was unsuccessful with my 1st choice with 3 pts & didn't draw my second choice. This was the first year my second choice unit didn't have left over tags. It went from 100% draw with lots of left overs to needing 1 pt to draw.

I knew the odds would change due to them extending the draw deadline! This sucks!!!!!

Each year for the last 8 years or so the odds are getting worse. Has nothing to do with the draw deadline. Used to be so easy to draw units like 32 and 73 they even had leftovers. Now you need 3 points at least. Hate to say it but its the result of hunting forums and things like eastmans if you ask me. Wyoming is becoming more and more popular and people who would have never hunted it before are now applying and willing to make the drive. At least more people are hunting and interested in it so its a trade off.

I didn't draw this year and didn't expect to since I used all my pts when I drew last year. It was pretty awesome that the draw results were available the minute that Wy posted they would be. Why can't AZ do that instead of playing games with us every time ????

The wife and I drew unit 29 tags. It was pretty much a guaranteed draw, but I'm glad it is now official. This is my first antelope hunt. I can't wait!
