WOODSAZ Report post Posted April 30, 2007 Went down to the archery shop on saturday and looked at the new vectrix. Anyone shoot one? Just wanted to hear what anyone thinks of it. I was looking at the Trykon but this new bow seems to have some nice new features.
Coues Sniper Report post Posted April 30, 2007 You know, i shot one and i wasn't all that impressed. I don't know, it just seemed average to me. The noise and vibration were ok, but it was definitely there. Pretty smooth draw. I shot it right after a Switchback, Drenaline, and a Guardian so maybe they spoiled me. Hoyt makes a great product so I'm sure it's a good bow, it just didn't flip my switch i guess. my 2 cents anyways.
azcouesandelk Report post Posted April 30, 2007 I have shot all the bows that kevin has mentioned and I agree that the drenalin and guardian are a better bow than the vectrix. The vectrix is a great bow but it just does not have the speed as the others. Also it has a little more vibration than the drenalin but a little less than the guardian. All these bows are top of the line and worth the money.
mattys281 Report post Posted April 30, 2007 I have to respectfully disagree on this one. I also shot all three (vectrix, drenalin, & sb xt) & would take the vectrix. It's heavier than the Drenalin, but I liked the way the shot felt better & it was super quiet. It is necessary to point out, however, that any bow equiped w/ one of those string suppressor rods would probably feel & sound about the same.
BowNut Report post Posted May 1, 2007 I have not had a chance to shoot the new Bowtech but I have shot the Drenaline. The Drenaline was not as heavy but really to light for my liking and the weight that was there was all on top. And I still do not care for Mathews handles never have. As far as the Trykon and the Vectrix. I believe you will be much happier with the Vectrix. I shot the Trykon XL last year thought it was the best bow Hoyt ever made for an all around hunting and 3D bow. Then I shot the Vectrix the draw is much smoother and holds much better than the Trykon. If you are going to just hunt with it do not overlook the Vulcan I do not know what they did to this bow but it just sits there when you shoot it and has the speed and KE to go with it. And the draw feels great to. But you need to shoot as many bows as you can get your hands on to see what fits best for you.
WOODSAZ Report post Posted May 1, 2007 Thanks guys, Appreciate the feedback. I figure Ive got a couple months to try others out, and take out a second mortgage to pay for it . Not to mention it might take that long to warm up the boss to the idea. Thanks again. Jay
