unit 9 late bull

I drew this tag in 2013 and 2014 as well. How did you guys do last year?

Tag soup not for lack of finding.nothing I wanted to shoot lots of spikes.took my Dad on frist elk hunt he had just gotten back from Afghanistan this year he is coming back we both hope to take one this year

Only hunted there last year new to the unit really love it there.hard for me to scout do to work but dad has retried.and my uncle who is also this year from D.E.A they will have boots on the ground hopefully a few times before we go kinda went in blind last year

Didn't you guys hear, every bull in 9 is going to get killed during that early muzzleloader hunt they have.

We had 3 tags in their back in 2012 during that unusual fog .hunted 7 days hi n low only saw 2 cows during the hunt but scouting their we're bulls everywhere.

Really just would Luke my dad to get his frist bull probably last year to hunt had knee surgery last year and having back surgery next month say he will be good to go.Just have not figured if we are going to stay up north or go sourh.never hunted south

Flatlander- Only the 400+ " bulls are going to get killed during early Muzzy. Should be close to 10,000 inches of bone gone from 9 after early muzzy hunt. :lol:

 

OP- Late unit 9 can be a tough hunt. Stay in the flats and canyons and you will find elk. Unit will amaze you at how well they can disappear when it starts getting cold.

yeah last year most elk we saw were in deep canyons.anyone have 19a hunt that's my backyard know where a few bulls are there as well nothing in 400+ range but not bad bulls really tough hunt in and out
