SHUTTING UP AN ANTI-HUNTING VEGETARIAN

Recommended Posts

This really happened Monday when I was returning from San Antonio and the woman sitting next to me asked if I was on a business trip.

When I told her I heading home to Tucson after interviewing a Texas bowhunter who had hired me to ghostwrite his memoirs, she went into a tirade about hunters killing God's creatures and ended by proudly announcing she was a vegetarian.

"Really?" I asked. "I hope you are taking the required supplements."

When she asked what I meant, I explained that humans are omnivores, and that a strict vegetation diet can cause APD. When she asked about APD, I said:

"It's Animal Protein Deficiency. It can get ugly. Being overbearing, opinionated and downright rude are the early symptoms. You might want to check with your doctor."

She never said a word the rest of the trip.

I bet the 4.5 LBS of make-up she was wearing was tested on animals before she smeared it on face.

Awesome story!

Vegetarians in general seem to enjoy living in a world of massive irony that is beyond my comprehension. At least the U.S. version that seems to look down on everyone else who is not willing to join their cult.

I love gods creatures too! What a wonderful gift from god to give us such tasty animals :)

Much better than what I would have said. I would have said she can't be that much of a vegetarian because beavers are animals.

Great comeback! I wish I could think that quick in those situations. Hunters in general like to be left alone to do there own thing, but we really do need to go on the offensive sometimes. These anti-hunters get away with way too much nonsense.

It seems like we are always expected to give respect to groups like this that show little respect to us. Based off some of these stories I hear, hunters have way more knowledge about conservation and respect for the land more than these people ever will.

Very cool. I am sure that I would not have handled that situation as cleverly. ....

Next time I find myself in the same situation I will have to give him/her the "Quimby"
