sherman Report post Posted April 13, 2015 My wife used mine on her deer last year and my friend used it as well I picked up another one and will be using it this year. Pros it is flat shooting, devastating round I would trust it out to 500 yards Cons ammo is hard to find and so is the brass
STOMP442 Report post Posted April 13, 2015 Not shooting one but I am sure it would work great. Brass for the WSSM cases are getting quite difficult to find these days, if you don't already have a supply of brass you might look into the 6XC for another option. Brass is easily made from .22-250 cases and definitely different.
PRDATR Report post Posted April 13, 2015 I was looking at getting one last year but decided not to as brass and ammo was impossible to find and that would make it very hard to sell the gun down the road. Frankly I have not seen ammo available for it anywhere in over a year.

Frankly I have not seen ammo available for it anywhere in over a year. Yes this is very true. The last one I got I basically paid for the brass and got the gun for free or that is the way I explained it to my wife you can find both the ammo and once fired brass but you have to be willing to pay a little for it. Me and the guy that got me hooked on this round have about 700 pieces
Zeke-BE Report post Posted April 14, 2015 My brother has one and he was going to sell it. But now he sees it as a rare gem and wants to keep it. They are great rounds, shooting about 200 fps faster than a regular .243 and look cool. But if it was me and because of regular .243 rounds are everywhere I would just go with that. People on here will swear by the
Titanium700 Report post Posted April 14, 2015 Got a SA magnum action laying around here that I've been thinking of making it into a .243 wsm forget the wssm, I'd rather the wsm.
azhuntnut Report post Posted April 14, 2015 I shot a muley last year loaded with an 85 grain TSX at 345 yards. It looked like he was struck by lightning. Mine is on an AR platform and it has killed a bunch of animals including several pigs, bobcats, coyotes, 2 lions, and 3 deer. I never used anything over 87 grains. I loaded up on brass years ago and reload all my rounds. I probably have over 500 rounds down the barrel and it still shoots as good as day one. I'm runnin 3450 fps with 87 grain vmax, and 3500 with the 85 tsx. David

sherman Report post Posted April 14, 2015 I would say if you have one don't be afraid to use it but if you don't if you can find one make sure it comes with ammo or brass this was the entrance on my wife's deer with 95gr sst at about 120 yards

azhuntnut Report post Posted April 14, 2015 My upper was built by Dtech. If you do order one, plan on waiting at least a year. Sometimes you can find somebody selling one on predator masters website.
