AmericanThunder Report post Posted April 6, 2015 Watched the video on this last night and it looks pretty cool. I have never had a decent sleeping bag and I always wind up getting cold (even in 30-40 degree weather). Does anyone have one that could convince me the $400 price tag is worth it? http://westernhunter.net/shop/camp-gear/the-famous-western-hunter-sleeping-system/
CouesPursuit Report post Posted April 6, 2015 Just missed one in the classifieds. Maybe someone in the thread can shed some light. http://www.coueswhitetail.com/forums/topic/56243-wh-sleep-system/?hl=%2Bhunter+%2Bsleeping+%2Bsystem
PRDATR Report post Posted April 6, 2015 Wiggys make some nice bags, I bought my son one a few years ago. We sleep on opposite sides of the tent so I called them up ( Grand Junction ) and had them put the zipper on the left side of the bag. http://www.wiggys.com/
Arizona Griz Report post Posted April 6, 2015 I believe they have a plastic zipper. If you are going to pay this much I would pay a little more and get a Butler Sleeping Bag. You will not regret it.
MULEPACKHUNTER Report post Posted April 6, 2015 Another option is to build your own, put together your favorite bag and padding set up and then order a cowboy bedroll from Davis tent and awning. Best setup I have used.
murfys69law Report post Posted April 6, 2015 Sportsman warehouse and buy an "Elkhunter" about $125.00 rated for -30..huge bag with lots of room and very very warm. Only bag I will ever use again. For $400 I could buy 3 Elkunters and sleep in Antarctica. Friends I know told me about it. we have slept right on a cot outside next to our trucks in cold weather and were warm as toast
Red Sparky Report post Posted April 7, 2015 +1 on the Elkhunter. Used it in a tent on November elk hunt with only a Big Buddy heater to kind of warm up the tent to get dressed in the morning. Temps were 20 at night and I never got cold sleeping.
Redman Report post Posted April 7, 2015 2+ on the elk hunter. I slept on a cot with snow, the bag literally froze to the cot, but was toasty inside....
