Red Sparky Report post Posted April 4, 2015 I just bought three different cams yesterday, already had two cheap ones. I am testing them in the back yard to make sure they are working and kind of a side by side comparison before I put them out. I want to make sure they are working before I drive three hours to put them out. Got bunnies and cats in the back yard last night and a good idea of the flash range and illumination on each cam. Just put alkaline batteries in them but will put lithium in them for out in the woods. I will know results at the end of the month to know if I will just be putting them out for deer (guaranteed tag where I put in for) or if I get an elk tag as well. So hopefully starting May 1st I will have five cams out and getting pics.
Norteno Report post Posted April 5, 2015 Let us know which ones you got and what you think of each. I'm tired of wasting my time with cheap ones as well
Red Sparky Report post Posted April 5, 2015 Stealth Cam Unit Ops 8mp, $80 new; Wild Game Innovations Blade 8X LightsOut with 8gb Sandisc SD card new $90; Browning Range Ops LR $95 new. So far I am liking the Browning best but they are all working pretty well. I moved them to the front yard to see what is going on after dark. We have no street lights and I have picked up people walking dogs after dark at about 60 ft. from the cameras. They were visible but just outside the range of the flash. The Browning has a quick trigger speed and will pick up cars doing 25-30 mph in the middle of the picture where the other two I get taillights or nothing. Will see what the battery life is in a month with standard alkaline batteries.
AZLance Report post Posted April 5, 2015 I put out hundreds of cams each year...and I have used a bunch of different ones. RECONYX is the best SD Card cam on the market. Pics are clear, fastest trigger time and you won't miss anything. BUCKEYE Cams are the best for live view cams. Quality is Unbelievable and you will recoup your investment in time and gas is no time.
