I didn't kill him.......but I thought about it 'cause he NEVER rattled once! Not even when I really messed with him! THAT'S SCARY!

What do you mean " really messed with him". I bet that wasn't a telephoto lens you were using.

What spooked me is that I was sitting just a couple feet away from where this snake is, before I got up and walked to a different spot! He was close by the whole time I sat there 'cause I was only gone for about 20 minutes! I also was thankful I was really looking close to that spot as I walked up, checking to make sure I didn't leave anything behind! I got a serious case of the heebie-jeebies.....especially 'cause he never gave a warning and he was obviously very aggressive! I would do alot more glassing/scouting by my house if it weren't for incidents like this one.....almost guarantee to find at least one every time out! JIM>

Them are some of the best pictures I've seen of rattlers. I have had some really spooky incounters with these. This is the time of year I spook at every little thing that looks or sounds like one. If you're out and hear a scream, it's just me when another grasshooper flies up from my feet.

i always wanted to get some pictures like this. Last fall during scouting i had my oppurtunity. I was about a mile and a half from the quad and i almost stepped on a big mojave rattler probably over three feet long. I got my camera out and then thought better of it, my camera has little zoom and he was pretty fired up. Ill just sit here and enjoy ur pictures.
