Elkhunter1 Report post Posted March 23, 2015 I know Amanda has combined several posts together but I need to get this out there farther than it has gone. You all hunt or fish...right? WE need to stick together and stop this action from happening. YOU ALL will loose your ability to hunt 1.7 MILLION ACRES if this Monument is approved. Yes most monuments are huntable, however there are several that for decades denied access to all hunting, ie Saguaro Monument East and West to name two here in Az. and yes they are now Parks but that doesn't change the fact we were never allowed to hunt on them. Monument status is ONLY one step from park status and ALL parks are closed to hunting and fishing. This status affects all of us hunters but more importantly this status WILL permanently reverse and damage all of the hard work the USFS, BLM, and AZG&F has done on the Kaibab habitat. This status will also make it easier to introduce the Wolf and Grizzly Bear into the land. Several enviro groups have already expressed interest in doing just that if the monument status is signed. With over 5000 members here there should be well over the 1000 signatures needed to get the petition listed so Washington D. C. will have to listen to us.
