HUNTMUP Report post Posted April 22, 2007 That is great!!! Do you know if he has any offspring that could handle a man say,, 270 lbs and a blanket!! I could not ask such a fine animal to handle me and a saddle at the same time! I would even go as far as maybe losin' a few pounds if that would make him happy Looks like you got a great friend right there!! (Still was wishin GTT could have put his tag on that one for himself) ..
COOSEFAN Report post Posted April 22, 2007 Hey Christian.....I saw you on here JUST as much as me today.....so you can't talk Hey HUNTMUP....you got a good memory.......this is the bull GTT was hoping to kill last year! It just so happens the pic worked perfectly to create my Shed Huntin' Machine!
COOSEFAN Report post Posted April 22, 2007 Now.....when you guys buy one of these Shed Huntin' Machines.........be sure to buy the extended warranty to guard against antler defects.....such as having one fall off.......... I noticed I forgot to install the steering wheel (reins) on the first pic, but now it's got em'.

GTT Report post Posted April 22, 2007 That's awesome coosefan! That picture brought back some great memories...not you on it but the bull itself I might have got that bull too if I had a little more self control on that hunt See this was my 1st archery bull tag & I told everyone that I hope the 1st bull that comes in is a big one, because I'm going to have a hard time passing up a branch antlered bull Well that's what happened...I shot the 1st bull that came in to the call on the 2nd day of the hunt...& while we were skinning my bull we called in the one I was hoping to get a chance at....the one in coosefan's pic! Oh well, It Just added to the whole experience I'm very proud of my bull & wouldn't change it for nothin'...(Maybe) next time I can hold out a little longer HUNTMUP, hopefully your tag will be on a bull like that this September Here is the bull I got & another pic of (the one that got away) before coosefan tamed it Thanks, Bret
azcouesandelk Report post Posted April 22, 2007 Hey Bret did that bull you killed have a broken pedicle on the right side? It looks like the antler is growing forward. I don't know if I will be able to hold out for a good bull I do not have that much self control I mean look at my coues hunt this year!!!
HUNTMUP Report post Posted April 22, 2007 Thanks Jim, I really needed a good laugh after the last few weeks!!! Every time I pull up this thread I can't help but laugh Younghunter, I hope you can hold out, you have a great tag and from what I hear you will put in the time and I would not expect to see a small bull with your tag on it come September!!!! I think everyone who has drawn a few a bull tags has shot atleast one small bull, it is the heat of the moment when all the stars are aligned and that bull just walks right into your arrow!! Anyways, try to hold out if you can, atleast the first week. If you want you can get my number from GTT and give me a call, I am sure you have lots of people in the "know" that are helping you but if I can help you out I would be glad to share some info. I had the tag in 2001 and I usually end up helping one of my friends out every year in that unit. I hope you kill a MONSTER!!! GTT, I will take the whole hunt off if I have to! I will not shoot a small bull until the end of the hunt. I know it will be a while before I get another tag and I am going to do my best to get a good bull. I sure hope I can get a shot at a bull like the one you have a picture of Very nice bull!!!
GTT Report post Posted April 22, 2007 Hey Bret did that bull you killed have a broken pedicle on the right side? It looks like the antler is growing forward. I don't know if I will be able to hold out for a good bull I do not have that much self control I mean look at my coues hunt this year!!! younghunter, I'm not sure if it had been broke but his rt. side was very cool....The pedicle is twice the size of the lt. side & is positioned more forward on the skull. It was a bonus to me because I usually shoot (Freaks of the woods) one antlered deer one antlered caribou ...you know As far as your bull hunt...you'll have alot more scouting in than I did...last Sep. is when I went to Alaska w/ Jim & didn't get out as much as I would have for my elk hunt. Seeing good bulls while scouting & knowing where they were close to the hunt will help alot. Like HUNTMUP said if you have the whole hunt off....HOLD OUT.....this way you get to milk the hunt for all it's worth & shoot a smaller bull toward the end if you don't wack the big one 1st and you should be very proud of that coues from last year! They're all "trophies" to me ....Bret
firstcoueswas80 Report post Posted April 23, 2007 Bret, i would have done the same thing! WHEN i draw a archery tag, branch antler bull is goin down no matter what!
