JLG Report post Posted March 14, 2015 I picked up an AR upper the other day, with a piccatanny rail running out almost to the end of the barrel. Looking stuff over I think I am going to put some 45 degree side mount open sites on it but I would like to put a variable 3x9 on top to give me a chance to hit something at distance on a P- Dog shoot we will be doing this summer. A Vortex Viper HS 2.5-10x44 w. the BDC reticle at $449. A Nikon M-223 3-12x42 w. BDC600 reticle at around $469. An SWFA SS Classic 3-15x42 FFP w. their version of the MIL-quad reticle at $699. A Weaver Tactical 3-15x50 FFP w. the EMDR reticle at $849. Depends on your definition of "moderate". That is a bit subjective.
