azpredator@work Report post Posted March 10, 2015 For those guys who have tried different coatings, what is considered the best coating for a rifle? Just bought a tikka 25-06 stainless / plastic stock and will be looking to either cerakote, hydrodip or duracoat it. Is there any other types not listed? Let me know the pros and cons of each of them. I want to do the entire setup stock, scope & barrel. Thanks in advance.
lancetkenyon Report post Posted March 11, 2015 Rattle can. Cheap, easy, removable, DIY. Of the 3 you listed, I would go Cerakote.
azpredator@work Report post Posted April 17, 2015 ok, I decided to give the rattle can a try. Here are the before and after pics. So far, I like the turn out. Now, the big question....would you paint the scope or leave it as-is?
4Falls Report post Posted April 17, 2015 On your rifle Id leave the scope black. It looks cool with the black bipod and recoil pad. Nice job.
lancetkenyon Report post Posted April 17, 2015 If you want to paint the scope, go for it! The rifle looks awesome. Personally, I would do a single color that matches though.
