kit1228 Report post Posted February 24, 2015 Hey guys, I'm new here. I've read a bunch of the forums but just officially joined. So I never thought it could be so hard to find javelina in 34b. I've seen a 4 point whitetail buck, 3 whitetail doe, and called in a fox, but no javelina...... I've been out all over French Joe and Las Cienegas/ Empire mountains. Lots of sign but that's it....... kit1228 Report post Posted February 25, 2015 Thanks, went out to Dry Canyon tonight and after being out there for about an hour some guys rolled in and started target shooting..............
muledeerarea33? Report post Posted February 25, 2015 Lots of target shooting down there. Head past middle tank about half mile, the road splits. Take either one and glass and walk the hills along and in between the canyons. Lots of land in the southern part that's overlooked for javi. Good luck. muledeerarea33? Report post Posted February 25, 2015 And if they were shooting where you were hunting, you sure as heck weren't far enough in. Most all target practice is close to the dross within a mile or so. Even then as long as you feel safe hunting there, most critters get used to shooting areas and could still be close
Elkhunter1 Report post Posted February 25, 2015 That unit extends out to the river east of the 90. I have seen Javi's on several occasions between 90 and the river to the east parallel to French Joe.
