elkhunter Report post Posted February 23, 2015 Dad had an archery tag and both of us had a ham tag and I had a rifle tag. Each pig had a great story behind it and finding the pigs this year was not an issue in southern arizona. We did have quite a bit of competition on the rifle hunt (15 hunters in a very small area) but was still able to pull it off by targeting the area that the pigs go to when they have been pressured.

PelaPapas Report post Posted February 23, 2015 Congrats man! I tagged out early opening morning, didn't see too much traffic down south. The only hunters we seen all weekend were a few road hunters in trucks & UTV's. Congrats to you and your Dad on those pigs. Sure does look like fun to take a pig with a handgun. I might have to try my hand at it in the future!

Havasuhunter Report post Posted February 25, 2015 Congrats. What caliber are you shooting in the contender? I only have a 375 JDJ in carbine configuration now. Sold all my pistol barrels. Thinking about getting another 12-14", maybe 6.5 TCU since I have a bunch of 223 brass and 6.5 bullets.

gotcoues Report post Posted February 25, 2015 Good times with your Dad! Those Pentax binoculars you sold finally bite the dust. I loaned to a first time hunter and he knocked over his tripod first day out We got a lot of use of them and a lot of beginners were able to use some pretty decent glass on our hunts! elkhunter Report post Posted February 25, 2015 Havasu- it is a 223 caliber with 55 grn Hornady sst, it's deadly out to 200 yards! I feel like I was bending the rules for the ham hunt and reminded myself that muzzaloaders can shoot that far too. Got coues- tha pair was getting old! Glad to know it got used well! I purchased that pair in 2002 I believe!
elkhunter Report post Posted February 25, 2015 How much did I sell it for? I think it was like 75-85 dollars right?
gotcoues Report post Posted February 25, 2015 I seem to remember a 6 on the front end, but it has been a while and my memory is as bad as ever. Maybe $60-65. I would but another pair in a heartbeat. Tough loaning out my high end stuff, too much stress!
