Scent elimination

Recommended Posts

Not very far..... Probably should, but I only wash clothes in Sent-a-way detergent and spray down with the earth sent spray...... ..... never had any problem.

Thats all I ever do. Just spray down with scent away every couple hours. I have been as close as eight yards from elk for several minutes at a time and never got winded.

I was my normal camo (no scent lock for me) in some kind of scent killer, then dry it with earth scented dryer sheets. They are then put into large ziplocks and put inside a plastic tub. When I get out there I pull off some local vegitation and put that in the bag too. Seems to work fine.

I dont do anything. I just go out there as is. Maybe I should try some scent elimination products and try to touch some live deer.

all i have ever done during rifle hunting is spray some wildlife research scent eliminator and we make sure to put it on our hats, boots and a lil in our hair.

Depends on what I'm hunting for. In wisconsin bowhunting whitetails it is pretty crucial. For elk I will wash either in baking soda or the unscented soap. I have spray I use in the field but I think the best thing is if you dont have a scent suit to leave your clothing in a tree or sage bush (whatever is around your hunt area weather permitting). I also use those base layers to absorb sweat. I have had animals walk right past me. Who knows of that stuff really works but I do make sure not to use regular deodorant. Last year on my cowhunt we almost had a bull walk right over us we had to move to get his attention. Pretty cool

I roll around in cow dung. The deer don't notice me, but some of the bulls give me too much attention.

IMO- If the wind is wrong, no cover scent made will help. All that happens is you smell like a guy with "Earth Scent" sprayed on ya.

Be quiet, work the wind and you'll be fine.............Again though, I've only successfully stalked and harvested a handful of decent critters with my bow so what do I know........... <_<
