nw07heavy Report post Posted February 23, 2015 We had no luck on the handgun hunt this year, but our rifle hunt ended with success. We hunted 36B for both hunts, but found the very dense and tall grass and brush a real hindrance and did not see any animals. On the rifle hunt we experienced groups of guys firing their weapons apparently out of boredom at just about anything, including ricochets off of rocks. This occurred in several different places and interestingly we never experienced this idiotic behavior during any HAM hunt. On the day of our success the bored shooters had gone elsewhere, leaving a good hunting environment. Here is a photo of my kill. I had just arrived at the javelina and was in the process of tagging the leg when my buddy had me drop the knife and tag out of my hand so he could shoot the photo.
