Havasuhunter Report post Posted February 22, 2015 I find it crazy that anyone would pay that type of money to hunt anything. I'd love to get a huge Mulie, but even if I was a multi millionaire I'd never even consider it. Now, if the money is all going to habitat improvement, protecting public access, etc, then I guess it's a good thing.
rossislider Report post Posted February 22, 2015 My guess is there is a particular deer in mind that someone was willing to pay a lot to get first crack at.

If I won the powerball a couple weeks ago, you bet I would have that tag in my pocket along with a few others.

shanehamblin Report post Posted February 23, 2015 The auctions are really fun to watch an witness. Great way to raise money for conservation. I'd be buying too if I was in the position to do it. But for now I'll just worry about having enough in my acct so azgfd doesn't decline my app.

Alpinebullwinkle Report post Posted February 23, 2015 I viewed the biggest mule deer last year while getting ready for an elk hunt that I had ever seen. At first I thought he was a 5 point rag horn bull. Plan to go after him this year with my bow in August but sure would rather try to get him when he is hard horned. Estimate he is +230.

AZ game and fish has mis managed the herds so bad theres nothing bigger than a forkie anywhere. Good luck, that will be one memerable trophy if you get him. I have a 190 Ive been trying to figure out how to kill with the bow.
208muley Report post Posted February 23, 2015 Good for the guy that bought the tag and good for wildlife in az!!!!!! I am sure that the reason the price went that high is cause there is a true beast out there and more than one camp knows about it! Anyone know Who bought it?
