Swivelhead Report post Posted February 19, 2015 Wow you've seen twenty. That's amazing. I've lived here all my life and only seen two live ones and one dead one on the road. Saw most of them while riding dirt bikes on remote trails. Covered a lot of ground while doing it. Saw a lot of buzz worms too.

AZbowhntr Report post Posted February 20, 2015 I would imagine it is a rattle snake. I have only seen two Gila Monsters in all the years I have been hiking around out there. Had a friend of mine years ago find one and had no idea what it was. He picked it up and brought it home. Thought it was the coolest thing until he showed us pictures and everyone freaked out. He took it back out and let it go. He just thought he found a really cool lizard. Somehow through all that he managed to not get himself bit.
azbow Report post Posted February 20, 2015 Rescued one out of the road last spring. Well just parked near it and slowed traffic so it wouldn't get smashed until it slowly made it's way over to the side.Thought that it was really slow and sluggish until I got to close to it while taking pics. It spun around with it's mouth open, hissing at me, so fast that it was a blur.
