Lake pleasant

Recommended Posts

Help me out guys. I can't seem to catch a flathead or even a channel cat at pleasant. What's the secret. Somebody mentioned the cats only night past dark at pleasant. Also I'm struggling with bass Ive caught 3 dropshoting a roboworm in 4 outings... Any help appreciated, usually I have the mentality of there's a fish, I can catch it but pleasant a been tough!

there's fish and winter time is best so the pleasure boaters don't overcrowd the lake.

dropshoting works well bite can be subtle.... I mean it can be just a little tick.

deep clear water is what dropshotting is for... just make sure your set up is correct... ie. light flouro line and hook facing up and whatever soft plastic you like... robo worms are good as are a # of others.

go on azbasszone and see if you can get some tips.

as far as catfish..... never had good luck in cold water. maybe technique.

Try a medium diving sexy shad! :P My dad caught a cat on one, actually he seems to catch a cat on a crank bait about every other time we head out no matter which lake.

I can tell you the lake is full of catfish (and carp). We usually bow fish pleasant and sometimes there are so many catfish I can't believe it. Try to find the big shallow flats and fish them right before they drop off, probably something you know already but we always seem to see a couple cruising in those areas at night.

Winter is worst time for flatheads. Never been to Pleasant, but if like every other deep clear lake in winter look for Shad to be balled up and fish near them. That lake has white and yellow bass, so I'd be amazed if you couldn't catch something fishing spoons bear Shad schools. Largemouth will be on the Shad too.
