JLW Report post Posted January 30, 2015 there's fish and winter time is best so the pleasure boaters don't overcrowd the lake. dropshoting works well bite can be subtle.... I mean it can be just a little tick. deep clear water is what dropshotting is for... just make sure your set up is correct... ie. light flouro line and hook facing up and whatever soft plastic you like... robo worms are good as are a # of others. go on azbasszone and see if you can get some tips. as far as catfish..... never had good luck in cold water. maybe technique. rcdinaz Report post Posted January 31, 2015 Try a medium diving sexy shad! My dad caught a cat on one, actually he seems to catch a cat on a crank bait about every other time we head out no matter which lake. I can tell you the lake is full of catfish (and carp). We usually bow fish pleasant and sometimes there are so many catfish I can't believe it. Try to find the big shallow flats and fish them right before they drop off, probably something you know already but we always seem to see a couple cruising in those areas at night. Havasuhunter Report post Posted January 31, 2015 Winter is worst time for flatheads. Never been to Pleasant, but if like every other deep clear lake in winter look for Shad to be balled up and fish near them. That lake has white and yellow bass, so I'd be amazed if you couldn't catch something fishing spoons bear Shad schools. Largemouth will be on the Shad too.
