X-Force

Has anybody had the chance to shoot the PSE X-Force? Here is a great video about the bow, but I would like to hear some real world feedback. David

Yeah, i saw that video on archerytalk.com. Very interesting to say the least. However, wish they would have compared it to other "speed" bows, instead of the "popular" bows they chose. I could have told you what was going to happen with the ballistic gelatin test before it even happened. The sound test I found very interesting, although they took the stock sting silencers off of the guardian. The Drenaline has silencers built in, but they left them on since they weren't on the string . And it really didn't shock me that Nathan was able to shoot the bow well. He should be able to shoot anything well. Instead of putting the president behind the string, i would have like to seen Nathan shoot the other bows at those same distances to see what differences there were (if any). But all in all, PSE may have a winner here. That kind of speed hasn't ever been produced before without some sort of trade-off. I just wish there was a place in Vegas to shoot one.

The main thing I like about the bow is the kinetic energy. I like shooting heavy arrows and this bow would really throw them down range without loosing much speed. I could still shoot a 450 grain arrow over 300fps. I guess I need to drive down to Tucson this week and give one a try. David

I own an Archery pro shop in the white mountains and had the opportunity last week to shoot the x-force when our rep. stopped by. On the positive side it was quiet for a PSE. Thats it for positives! The draw curve of this bow is very steep, and seems to increase at the back. At 60# it feels like pulling 70#, At 70# it feels like pulling 80#.. Moderate hand shock is present. They want to compare this bow to Mathews Drenalin (and others) But they need to compare apples to apples. This PSE has only 6" of brace height and 70% letoff. The Drenalin has a forgiving 7" brace height and comfortable 80% letoff. If they only wanted to compare speed they should do so with similar bows, like the Black Max with 6" of brace height and 65% letoff. Once again though they would be left behind..

It looks like some of you guys spend to much time over at archerytalk. If you don't like a brand, then don't make a comment about the subject. Alot of people talk sh^& about PSE, but I have shot at least ten animals with PSE bows. Oh, and my piece of crap PSE shot a book elk in 05, but they don't make a decent bow. I have said it before, its not the bow that kills the animal, it is the person behind it. I am not loyal to any brand, unless they want to pay me. I drive GM trucks, but if Dodge or Ford make a truck I like better than I will buy one. I don't care as long as it works for me. David

I haven't been on AT lately so I don't know what is being said there. I would like to here from people that own them and have done their own testing with a chrony etc... I would love to test one but will not buy one to test it.

If it is as good as they say it is, everyone will be buying them like hotcakes.

You are being a little sensitive. Part of the fun is ragging on other peoples bows. It is all good natured and most people except probably The Hoyt crowd know that an average archer can shoot well with any decent bow. It usually comes down to preferance and feel. Archer's should be sceptical of any new claim from companys though. The speed of this bow makes me imagine the possibilities, yet I have my doubts. I have been hearing about the mythical 40 yard pin from people and their bows for ten years. " I only need one pin out to 40 since my bow shoots so flat". Ect ect. More often then not these people can't shoot accurately at any distance. Even this video states there is a 4 1/2 inch drop between 30 and 40. Under perfect condition with maxed ibo specifications. Plus if you think you will have an accurate long distance hunting bow with 20 yard gaps between pins from20 to 120 yards like the guy in the video claims you are being naive. I am not saying it couldn't be done, i just think it is irresponsible for PSE to give the impression that all you need to shoot out to 120 yards is the x force and 6 pins!
