5alivefishing Report post Posted January 26, 2015 My wife is a taxidermist and is completing a life size porcupine for a client. I need to find a 20"- 25" long and 4-6"dia piece of aspen tree trunk. It is tough finding one in Havasu. If you have something in the wood pile please let me know. I will be happy to pay and cover shipping. Thank you Tim (928) 727-0071

5alivefishing Report post Posted January 26, 2015 We are good with anything a porcupine would feed on, I should add it should be about 20"-25" tall. Thanks hoghntr
billrquimby Report post Posted January 27, 2015 It shouldn't be much trouble to get a permit to cut an aspen tree. The problem with aspen is that it turns grey, then black, and its bark gets loose in no time at all after it dies. Bill Quimby

My Rights As An American Report post Posted January 27, 2015 Some good coats of clear sealant should keep it in color. I have done that many times with smaller pieces to make pencil holders and no loss of color or bark peeling. Just a thought to try.
