WTB Piece of Aspen Tree trunk

My wife is a taxidermist and is completing a life size porcupine for a client. I need to find a 20"- 25" long and 4-6"dia piece of aspen tree trunk. It is tough finding one in Havasu. We are good with anything a porcupine would feed on, I should add it should be about 20"-25" tall. Thanks hoghntr

It shouldn't be much trouble to get a permit to cut an aspen tree. The problem with aspen is that it turns grey, then black, and its bark gets loose in no time at all after it dies.

Some good coats of clear sealant should keep it in color. I have done that many times with smaller pieces to make pencil holders and no loss of color or bark peeling. Just a thought to try.

I always wanted a porcupine mount!!!!!! But it will never happen for me since you are not allowed to hunt them here......
