Big Browns Report post Posted January 21, 2015 I have a friend looking for a welding job. He has been working in California on Oil rigs. He was laid off yesterday due to the low prices. He has his own rig, lots of certifications & a willingness to work hard. If you know of any companies hiring please let me know. Thx, Adam
muledeerarea33? Report post Posted January 21, 2015 Freeport boilermakers, worth a shot? Or other contractors/mines in the area. If not, maybe a body shop doing ICAR work on sheet metal til a thick weld job opens.
Flatlander Report post Posted January 21, 2015 BNSF in Flag was hiring a few weeks ago. Also Diversified Metal Fabrication will hire good welder a anytime. It won't pay like the oil fields but it will pay, barely.

yotebuster Report post Posted January 21, 2015 The welders in ND are still going strong. Lotsa pipeline left to build up here. I imagine pay is going down with oil prices, but I know a few welders that were making $200k+ a year up here so I'm sure if he's good and has his own rig he wouldn't have trouble finding a good job.
