Did any other else here on the boards draw this same tag?

I had the hunt two years ago as well as in 99'. My neice had the hunt last year. It can be a real good hunt with a lot of opportunity to take a good bull. The last two years seemed to be a little difficult in locating bulls, but then again, I didn't scout like I should have. At that time of the year, most bulls are bachelored up. I'd start hitting the scouting hard after the rut and the fall hunts.

I plan on scouting as soon as the first couple of hunts in the unit are over. I suppose there is no use locating a monster to have someone kill it during the earlier hunts. This is only my second tage......EVER. The last one I had was in 1994. If anyone has any recommendations. PM me......and no I'm not e-scouting. I'll spend every weekend up there from mid Oct until my hunt......the dreaded drive from Tucson to Springerville.....4 hours :( Gas Price going up :( At least I get to hunt :D :)

Living here in Vernon is a privilege to see all of the monster elk that you could find on your hunt. There are plenty of big bulls in the surrounding area. Try to find the high spots and glass the juniper flats and drainages. You will find them.
