sherman Report post Posted January 18, 2015 I have never left a theater in dead silence after a movie before. You could have heard a pin drop. Pretty much sums it up. I was going to say the same thing!!! . Same thing where the wife and i saw it just silence in a sold out showing. It was a great book. I can't picture Bradley cooper as CPO Kyle but I could be wrong I thought the same thing but he actually did a great job. It was a real good movie but I enjoyed the book more . After i read his book he became a hero of mine and i watched lots of new with him and interviews i think Bradley Cooper did a good job. And one question i have is the POS that killed him what happened to him. Anyone know
AZbowhntr Report post Posted January 18, 2015 Saw it last night. Great movie. There whole audience applauded at the end of the movie. I haven't read the book but I knew with Clint Eastwood directing and producing it that it would be closer to actual facts than some liberal Hollywood type. Whitesheep Report post Posted January 18, 2015 Just for the record the book about the Marine Sniper from Vietnam is "Marine Sniper: 93 Confirmed Kills" about Carlos Hathcock written by Charles Henderson. Here are the author's notes: Charles Henderson is a veteran of more than twenty-three years in the United States Marine Corps, with a distinguished career spanning from Vietnam to the Gulf War, after which he retired as a Chief Warrant Officer. In addition to writing his own books and for various publications, he runs his family's cattle enterprise in Peyton, Colorado. His first book was critically acclaimed military classic Marine Sniper , which first chronicled the exploits of U.S.M.C. sniper Carlos Hathcock . He is also the author of Marshalling the Faithful. There is one copy floating around the Phoenix Library system and I have it on hold, so get in line

rossislider Report post Posted January 18, 2015 Many of you are probably aware of the lawsuit that POS Jesse Ventura file against Chris Kyle's estate and widow, Taya, after Chris died. For those of you who are not, in his book Chris references a former soldier who was bad mouthing current SEALs and soldiers in a bar, and vocally suggested his desire that more of our soldiers needed to die. Needless to say, Chris and his buddies took care of this loser. Some time after the book came out Chris was asked in an interview who this man was. Chis told the interviewer it was Jesse Ventura. This past year Ventura was awarded in the neighborhood of two million dollars for "slander" from the Kyle estate. Shortly after, the clothing company Forged, a company founded by fellow Seals, began a campaign selling "The Legend" t-shirts, sweatshirts, etc. The proceeds go to help out Taya and Chris's children offset some of the costs of this lawsuit. This campaign was very successful. With the release of the movie, Forged has expanded the campaign with a much larger line of clothing. The proceeds will now go to the Chris Kyle Frog Foundation. If any of you want another way to support this hero and what he stood for, I encourage you to check out the link I will add below.

10Turkeys Report post Posted January 18, 2015 Read the book, gonna see the movie when I get a chance. The American forces ranks are fortunate to have always had some farm boy who knew his way around a rifle ie. Alvin York, Audie Murphy, Carlos Hathcock,Shifty Powers,Mr. Kyle and probably so very many that we haven't heard about.

firstcoueswas80 Report post Posted January 18, 2015 Just saw it. As mentioned, everyone left in silence. The ending, with the actress who played Taya knowing what was going to happen was a tear jerker. Probably the most moving/emotionally trying movie I've ever seen. stanley Report post Posted January 20, 2015 Saw it last night with my kids...... Of course my thoughts echo many others here. Even my near 16 year old daughter was struck deeply! When we left the theater, she said something to the effect of "Boy dad, I kind of feel like I should go put an American flag up in my room.....". Good girl! She got it! STOMP442 Report post Posted January 20, 2015 I thought it was a good movie. Wish it would have shown more of him in action and correctly portrayed the sniper spotter relationship. I can guarantee his spotter didn't just sit there and BS with him. and I really wish Eastwood would have sprung for a real baby. Boy that scene where he is holding the blatantly obvious fake baby screamed lifetime B movie for me. Other than that I liked it.
