rclouse79 Report post Posted January 16, 2015 I saw them once this year. My problem is I always see them from up high down in the wash 500 yards away. By the time I get down to cut them off they have up and vanished like a fart in the wind!
khmer6 Report post Posted January 16, 2015 definitely seeing way more donkeys than normal. last year we were surrounded by them. came out of the brush and they split up into two groups. was actually kind of worried since both groups would close in as i tried to walk away. I glassed into a canyon/drainage one time and my god, there were hundreds of them eating the fresh greens. along with cattle and lots of babies everywhere too. it was like watching all the elk in mormon lake except they were lame donkeys
Havasuhunter Report post Posted January 17, 2015 The Burros are everywhere now, that's for sure. Usually the first thing I glass in parts of 16a. They also are running around town here in Havasu. Near animals, just wish I could find deer and Javelina as easy. I didn't see any in 18b, but track and burro crap everywhere. Of course I was bear Burro Creek, go figure.
DesertBull Report post Posted January 17, 2015 glassed from sunup to 4:00 non-stop. Saw three deer. How can there be no wind at my house in Gilbert, no wind in San Tan Valley, Florence, etc but as soon as I turn off the pavement into my unit the wind is hurricane force. Frustrating. I hate glassing in the wind. Nothing was moving today, thats for sure. I know this area is loaded with pigs.
