What head do you prefer. Looking at the ph 113v and the 700rc2. Thanks for the advise. I would like to keep it as light as posable.

I've own a number of the PH 113's. Durable and will handle decent weight. Smooth......... not so much, about 90$ worth. I'd recommend you spend more and get better quality.

Bino's you can go cheap and get away with it, spotter you have to spend some money if you want smooth. I use the Jim White for the bino's and it is awesome but a little on the light side for a spotter.

That being said it seems a lot of guy use the 700, I was thinking about getting one as well to replace my bogen trigger grip.

I use a Manfrotto MVH500 its a little on the heavy side and a little bulky but its rock solid and very smooth.

+1

Big upgrade over the 700 I used for many years.

I have used a 700rc2 for years and it has always done the job. I am sure there are better options out there, but I don't want to try them or I might have to buy a new one.

You guys are killing me!

I was looking at the 700 but checked out the 500 and 502. Are they worth the extra weight and $$$?

Still cheaper than the Outdoorsman which I checked out, it is awesome but over $300...

Yes it is.

I originally wanted the Outdoorsman but the price was out of my range.

I picked up an outdoorsmans pan head from a private seller for a pretty good deal. I love that pandhead. I had the 128rc before hand which worked great as well. Just a little heavier.
