21 points for Antelope, which unit

Recommended Posts

I last hunted Antelope in Az. in 1994. I now have 21 pts saved up.

Quite simply if you were me, and knowing that this will most likely be your last rifle tag that you will draw, what unit would you apply for , and why?

What units have you scouted and seen a lot of antelope? I would put in for one I knew held goats.

Go with the unit you will scout the most. Scouting is the most important. All the units in Az hage great Antelope. Some more than others, that's why scouting is very important.

Good luck

I would be happy to do all the scouting if you put me on your application, I have 11pts:) Just kidding, maybe:)

What are your expectations? Are you willing to kill any buck or is it an 85 incher or nothing? That might help eliminate some of the units to consider from either a quality or drawing difficulty perspective.

My expectations are for an Antelope hunt, not a drive around and shoot one from the road. Scouting is half the fun of this hunt and whatever area I eventually draw will be scouted hard, and I sure that I can round up a few good bucks to chase.

Maybe the question should be which unit would offer the best hunting opportunity away from the crowds.

Look into one of the 19's for muzzy. All of the good bucks are gone before the rifle hunt starts but you'll have a few really good ones left after the archery hunt. You'll have to scout, work arohnd private land, stalk close with muzzy, sounds like fun to me!!
