218buck Report post Posted January 7, 2015 I have several friends that have bought the new 15's and they say that they are no better than the old 15s I was looking for some more opinions on this if anybody could help me out I would appreciate it thank you
hunthard Report post Posted January 7, 2015 I personally compared them side by side in the morning at first light and at dusk and there is a definite noticeable difference. They were sharper, clearer, and brighter to me and edge to edge clarity was better. On a hunt looking into the shadows I glassed up a bedded buck and keep in mind I could barely make out my buddy could see with it his older swaros. But everyones eyes are different so... I would just compare for yourself. You notice the difference gassing into the shade or at dawn and dusk like I mentioned before
azpredator@work Report post Posted January 7, 2015 I see very very little difference in the optics, but I have good eyes. The biggest difference for me is the weight and I think that's only like 7%....wish they would make 15x60 els. Now, that would be a great bino!

couesmagnet Report post Posted January 13, 2015 There's a def diff between the old and new. If I had to quantify the diff it would be 15 to 20 percent in brightness and clarity. Also when compared there is a very noticeable reduction in the appearance of the yellow hue that can be seen looking they the old 15s. The new ones have way less if the yellow look and are much brighter. Under low light conditions the diff is amazing. I put this to the test over the last 4 weeks after purchasing the new ones in every situation imaginable. For a look at the diff go to the outdoorsman's and have Cody set the 2 up side by side at the shop and look at the mountain near there. I am very surprised that anyone wouldn't notice a sizable diff between the 2. I would feel handicapped if I was forced to go back to the old ones.
Elkaddict Report post Posted January 13, 2015 Which ones are the old and new? Mine are a yellowish green and my wife's are a dark green. I got mine in 2000 and my wife's probably 2004 or so.
couesmagnet Report post Posted January 13, 2015 Old 15s are non hd glass. New ones just came out in the last year. The yellowish color I was referring too had to due with the general hue of the old ones when looked thru not the specific color of a specific set of binos. New ones which r hd glass have a slightly diff body also.
Elkaddict Report post Posted January 13, 2015 If the new ones just came out last year, I definatly don't have those. I love the ones I have, hope I don't look through the new ones. I couldn't afford to change!
