Score....Thanks 308nut

Recommended Posts

I have been waiting a year and a half since they introduced these to get my hands on some. Can't wait to send some of them down range. 308nut was nice enough to call me New Years Eve to let me know that Midway had some. Thanks

Are the published BC's accurate?

Negative. I'm using .650G1 to a grand and it's spot on at mid ranges.

Litz says .651G1 so I think there's something to it. Double chronies also showed that they were close to the 208 amax side by side.

Cuz, you're welcome. Hope they shoot well for you!

I'm using a G7 BC of 0.318 and verified out to 900. Enjoy the bullets, what are you going to be shooting them out of?

I shoot a 300 Win Mag built from a left handed Remington action. Already a well proven rifle with 2 kills last year near 600 yards.

In my 300 WM I'm shooting rem brass, Federal GM215m primers, and h1000. Loading them to magazine length so there's a pretty good jump, can't remember exactly. In my gun I started getting slight signs of pressure at 77.8 grns. Load I settled on was 77.3 grns going 2860 fps and 0.4 moa.

Let us know how the load development goes.

Sweet...I am shooting almost the same setup. Remington brass, 210..sometimes 215 GMM Primer, H1000 at 76 grains for the 208 Amax. I am getting just a few fps over 2900 at my elevation (5,000 feet) I just recently started playing with the 210 VLD's from Berger and my second group with that load was 5/8 inch at 300 yards. The Berger averaged about 2910 fps with 74 grains of H1000. I have no explanation why the Berger was running faster with 2 grains less powder and 2 grains more bullet, but I'm not complaining :)

It's typically due to at least one of several things and often a combination. It's often times a change in friction due to less bearing surface, copper jacket alloy properties and lead properties.
