2015 archery pig

Recommended Posts

After skipping two years of pig hunting because of injuries, I was excited to get out this morning for pig season. We were headed to one of our spots when I spotted this pig all alone. I put a fast a stalk on him and smoked him with a grave digger broad head at 28 yards. One of the expandable blades nicked the spine going in and he dropped in his tracks. I found a hole in one lung and clipped the other. Check out those feet. David

Seen feet like that on pigs at the zoo....could it be? Just kidding, congrats David! Going to take a while to get used to the 2015 date. Good start to the year!

Reminds me of a goat hoof. Nice job!

Are hooves like that normal?

I have shot quite of few that had feet like this. I found out years ago from a game and fish office that said it is caused by animals eating vegetation with to much protein. Where I was hunting has lots of high protein alfalfa. I will post some up close pics of the feet later. David
