kazpilot25 Report post Posted December 29, 2014 So I'm interested in taking the guide test for a guide license (just because it sounds fun and challenging), but have no idea what is on the test. I can't seem to find any study materials or anything. Anybody on here take the test that can point me in the right direction?

GreyGhost85 Report post Posted December 29, 2014 i go on a ton of hunts every year and have considered getting mine, just so G&F can't mess with me. i have been questioned many times on whether i am receiving anything in return for my "favor" of going with them and lending a helping hand. i have wondered if being on the licensed guide list places you under a microscope? willhunt4coues Report post Posted December 29, 2014 Read and memorize all of 17 laws and commission orders in the back of the 2014-2015 regulations. Find the common violations area and memorize it. Look at what you can and can't hunt with. Most questions are common since BUT some are TRICK questions. Make sure you read them very closely. What ever region you live in you need to call that office and make sure to confirm the test date. Test are only given on the FIRST monday (or tuesday can't remember) of EVERY month. The license will cost 300.00 and you pay when you pass. You have 3 chances to take the test. 50 question on the Hunting test, 50 questions on the fishing test and 100 questions on the Hunt/Fish test.
azhuntnut Report post Posted December 29, 2014 Read through each question slowly. Some of them are a little tricky. Besides having a guide license, you will also need liability insurance ($750-$1000 per year) in case someone gets hurt that you are guiding, plus a permit for the county you are guiding in. So if you are guiding in Coconino, you will need to obtain a permit from the forest service. David
