azmetalman Report post Posted December 29, 2014 I am very sorry to hear of the death of Flagstaff Officer Tyler Stewart and the recent murders of several police officers. Law enforcement was never an easy job. Today it is frontline battle zone duty. Since the Ferguson incident I resumed carrying 100% of the time......even when I walk the dog. Thinking about this really bothers me. It isn't paranoia it is self preservation. Why should I need to be armed at all times to protect myself? It is because the age of the criminal is upon us and it seems as if the people of our country are not willing to do anything about it. I believe that these problems begin at home and end on the street. The degradation of our society reminds me of some of the great civilizations in history. Are we living in Rome? Just my 2 cents.

After decades of being told that you're a bigot/racist/homophobe/ignorant/red neck/whatever, our society is now completely tolerant of everything, except personal accountability. We are completely intolerant of that. Welcome to the new 'new world', which is beginning to look more and more like the old work from which our colonial ancestors fled.
Big Browns Report post Posted December 29, 2014 It shockes me that the media keeps saying it's the "COPS" fault for shooting a victim! They rarely blaim the "Victim" for assaulting the Cop! When are people going to learn? If you assault a Cop, 1) you are always considered armed, 2) it's your fault if you get shot or killed!!!!!! The same people who blaim the Cops or say they hate Cops are the same people who still dial 911 when they need help. I wish we could stop answering 911 calls from those who say they hate Cops!!!! PRDATR Report post Posted December 29, 2014 One common thread all of the great civilizations have is that they eventually all fell from power, every single one of them. I am sure there are some statistics out there as far as deaths of Law Enforcement people go but this reminds me a bit of the 60's when there was a lot of random violence against them. ready2hunt Report post Posted December 29, 2014 Kill em' all and let God sort em' out. To many people live without consequences theses day. Were i on duty I would have done the same as those officers. The real tragedy is the children left behind. No kid deserves to be robbed of a parent.
GhostTracker180 Report post Posted December 29, 2014 People don't relize that an officer has to make a spilt second decision. They don't get days to consider their options. Easy for others to be arm chair critics after the fact. Officers have family and love ones too. They are human not robots. People seem to forget that! What chapped my hide was hearing someone being interviewed on the news saying " it was just a misdemeanor, the officer should have drove away!" Really, what are they thinking. No crime is ok. The officer in Ferguson did his job. Our society is crumbling!

Snapshot Report post Posted December 29, 2014 In regards to the Flagstaff officer, it is indeed a tragedy. Hate to see the good folks die young. I was wondering if he had any backup. Especially searching for an volatile suspect.

If you are a hard worker, you are NOT the majority. If you show any thing that vaguely resembles financial responsibility in your life, or personal accountability, again you are one of the few. To heck with living by a moral compass, if you have one at all that at least causes you to pause before acting in a self-serving, inconsiderate manner, you are rare. Obama is simply a symptom of a sick populace.
AZbowhntr Report post Posted December 29, 2014 As far as the shootings go there will be more. My wife was telling me last night that she read that the gang bangers latest thing is painting the ends of their assault weapons barrels orange like the toys are. So now it will be even harder to distinguish what they actually have. It will be one more thing that the police will have to think about.
