Basic rule of thumb for optics is you want at least a 4mm exit pupil, or you're going to have trouble in low light situations. To get the exit pupil, you simply divide the objective lense by the magnification (I.e. a pair of 20x80 b inos gets the 4mm). They have all kinds of coatings and different grades of glass now that are supposed to increase the light gathering efficiency, but you'll never know for sure until you hit the field with them, unfortunately.
