joelpresmyk8 Report post Posted December 28, 2014 I'm sorry if this has been covered, I couldn't find it. I have never messed with it before but I want to make sure my new rifle is going to be torques right on all the screws. I have a remington 700 in a hs precision stock, egw base, and seekins rings. Does anyone have a general square in pounds to torque to for the -action screws -base to the receiver -and the top screws on the rings? Thanx guys!

452b264 Report post Posted January 26, 2015 Make sure to clean your action screw holes out,(de-grease)and use medium lock tight on the screws. I also lock tight my ring screws. Your mileage may differ.
willhunt4coues Report post Posted January 26, 2015 SOO TRUE 452b264. I have found that before even mounting the rings to the base I take the top off the rings and clean the screw holes of the rings (& base) with a q-tip and rubbing alcohol. Works really well.
