I have never messed with it before but I want to make sure my new rifle is going to be torques right on all the screws. I have a remington 700 in a hs precision stock, egw base, and seekins rings. Does anyone have a general square in pounds to torque to for the -action screws -base to the receiver -and the top screws on the rings? Thanx guys! Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

452b264 Report post Posted January 26, 2015 Make sure to clean your action screw holes out,(de-grease)and use medium lock tight on the screws. I also lock tight my ring screws. Your mileage may differ. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

I have found that before even mounting the rings to the base I take the top off the rings and clean the screw holes of the rings (& base) with a q-tip and rubbing alcohol. Works really well.
