Guest oneshot Report post Posted December 24, 2014 Anyone else make it a point to hunt on Thanksgiving day, Christmas Day or New Years??? The forests are empty of humans, and I have always felt I was getting an "extra" day to what I love. A buck killed on Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Years day lives larger in my mind and I remember those Hunts more vividly... (I have no kids so these holidays have always been open for whatever...) (Found some kind of bush with dark green leaves and red berries, so I decorated my quiver in the Spirit of the seasons hehehe)

Shooter McGavin Report post Posted December 24, 2014 For the past 15 years my buddy and I always do a New Year's Day quail hunt. One year, I remember we got up super early grabbed our gear and headed out to 36A off of Sasabe Hwy, got out and instantly heard quail clucking/calling. Gonna be a good day, right. As I grab my gun case and start to pull it out I let out the loudest expletive ever.....it was my 300 win mag. Loaded back up & drove back to Tucson and then proceeded to 37A. Day ended well, as do they all when you are out hunting for whatever.
MULEPACKHUNTER Report post Posted December 24, 2014 Well I find myself this year alone on Christmas eve so I am headed out the door for the hills. Going to be a lonely night in the tent. Good luck to the few Christmas day hunters.
