Couzer Report post Posted December 21, 2014 Is that brute a single or double action?
Edge Report post Posted December 21, 2014 Single action. Great for cowboy shoots or a light canon for back packing. She packs a punch, the 18`` barrel improves the bullets fps by about 50%. Pretty nice grouping at 100 yards. Weighs about the same as my 1911. Last time I saw one of these was in a gun shop 30 years ago, for $900.

muledeerarea33? Report post Posted December 23, 2014 My apologies Tim. I was referring to design. They never really took off because of not being safe/practical. Either way I've always loved them and don't care about practicality with a gun like that. Good luck with the sale.
Edge Report post Posted December 23, 2014 No offense taken, Dan buddy. You will want ear and eye protection for sure, mellow loads are a plus. This is one of the guns I learned to shoot wit been in the family 50 years. Even my sister would shoot it. Prefer to shoot .38s thru it, and the cylinder is properly shimmed. The original model was adapted by the army for mounted troopers. Can be fired rather accurately with one hand. Model didn't take off cuz Remington made it in cap and ball. A little late considering the emergence of brass casings.
