kazpilot25 Report post Posted December 15, 2014 I went and picked up my trail cam I put up in August. I had to fight the snow on my 1.5 mile journey into the wilderness, but the camera was still there and had over 1200 pictures on it (all had animals). I feel like it's a good start, but now I'm hooked. I had some pictures with over 5 bulls at once. Some pictures I counted a total of over 20 elk in the shot. They literally hit this spot every day since I set up the camera and salt in mid August. Hope you enjoy.

azslim Report post Posted December 15, 2014 was going to ask the same thing, what happened to the shed?
kazpilot25 Report post Posted December 15, 2014 Funny you ask. A rutting bull decided to take out his aggression on the shed, then some hikers decided to pick it up. I left it there figuring I'd pick it up when I came back, that didn't work out apparently.
GreyGhost85 Report post Posted December 15, 2014 lucky they didn't haul off your camera. that shed looks like it's off the bull in pic #
kazpilot25 Report post Posted December 15, 2014 lucky they didn't haul off your camera. that shed looks like it's off the bull in pic #6 That was my first thought when I saw them on there. They were the only people that showed up on the cam, and they didn't even look up at it. I had it way back, 1.5 miles off the nearest road and up pretty high in a tree. Couestracker Report post Posted December 15, 2014 Very cool pictures and some nice bulls too. Even one bugling! That shed was too white to have come from any bull in the pictures, plus wrong time of year if the dates were correct. Thanks for sharing those pictures! camoremi Report post Posted December 15, 2014 Cool pics any deer on cam?
kazpilot25 Report post Posted December 15, 2014 The shed was from this spring. I found it out there when I was setting up the cam, it was pretty brown. I just left it by the camera site because I had a lot of hiking left to do and didn't want to haul it around with me.
kazpilot25 Report post Posted December 15, 2014 Cool pics any deer on cam? A couple. I counted a total of 8 deer in the almost 4 months it was out there. All does. Not optimal. I had set up this spot because I had previously seen some monster bucks in there, but apparently it's just an elk paradise.
GreyGhost85 Report post Posted December 15, 2014 apparently those are all yearling bulls, and there is no way it came from one of them. impossible scenario. elk grow 200" in their first year. the bull in my avatar must only a little over 2 years old
